During my commute I saw a Prius with a Gadsden flag

And one of those “Don’t steal: The Government Hates Competition” bumper stickers.

I didn’t take a photo, because I knew Google would provide if I just had faith.

It’s sort of uplifting during such a contentious election season to think that there’s a middle ground to unite both coal rolling bros and Prius driving pseudo-hippies.

Bumper stickers: the great uniter!

Prius stopped being exclusively for self-righteous flagellants almost a decade ago. It’s just another car now.

I should have added that this had another bumper sticker that said Revolution with evol backwards and in red, but I was too lazy to describe it.

I posted something similar several weeks ago. A prius with NRA stickers and maybe a Trump 2016. Apparently Priuses (prii?) are no longer for left wingers. No one informed me of this change.

It’s a thing in the prepper community to do fuel efficient. You can make your 500 gallon (or whatever) fuel hoard stretch further running the lightest, most efficient vehicle before loss of Rule of Law and after in areas that still have maintenance. This leaves you with larger reserves for your ‘bug-out’ vehicle.

With a steep climb in inflation-adjusted gas prices from 2003 to 2008, resulting in the highest inflation-adjusted gas prices since 1920 , and then a second spike in 2012, exceeding 1919's high, high fuel efficiency became important to everyone, not just environmentalists.

That, combined with the lack of diesel products (and what accessibly-priced diesel products there were, were Volkswagens, with everything that comes with that), made hybrids much more appealing even to those whose political beliefs lie counter to saving oil and lower emissions. After all, even if the Prius had (and it’s firmly in the past - many environmentalists have moved onto PHEV and BEV products) an environmentalist stereotype, it’s still a fairly roomy, rather efficient, rather reliable car at the end of the day, and as far as the driving dynamics of the previous generations go, appliance-driving is something that people of all political beliefs do - do you think the SUVs that they replaced were any better to drive?

I still have only seen one Trump sticker in the heart of Red State country. My theory is that he’s such a given to win here, nobody really pushes for him. OTOH, maybe his supporters (even though they're in the majority here) are still afraid of vandalism.

Every Prius in my area is either devoid of all personality (like most owners), or completely covered in leftist stuff. This is...refreshing.

I’m still waiting for the wife to approve NRA, NPR, Sierra Club, Glock, and Constitution Party stickers for the van. I genuinely support all of them and also enjoy confusing people's polarized sensibilities.

That's surprising. I live in a red area of SC and no one is ashamed to show support with tacky bumper stickers on their new trucks. Which I find brave because a lot of the neighboring counties are predominantly black communities who tend to display pro-Hillary signs and stickers.

I live in the Blue state of NY, although the Very, Very Red upstate portion. There is one town I go through, that has trump flag, trump lawn signs, Rebel flags, trucks with American and Rebel flags in the back.... and 1 Hillary Yard sign.... brave person.

In my town, where I would expect to see more Trump stuff,,, nothing. I have heard supposedly of a Hillary sign in my town but not seen that yet.

Outside of that one town I see Bernie Sanders stickers,,, and an occasional Ted Cruz sticker.

On my commute into work, I smile every time I go by the one house with the Libertarian party yard signs. Good to know someone has a brain.

At this point, I’m just telling everyone to pick whatever third party they like best. I’ve voted straight LP in the past 4 elections, but I’m switching to Constitution this time around. Hell, I’d even vote Green if they were the only third party available. None of them are going to win, but the two big parties both deserve to have their support bases eroded over time.

I would wear the crap out this shirt every day, and twice on Sunday. (Maybe not to church.)
